Cultural gallery

Faces, journeys, a shared memory.

Faces, memories, and the story of a people Every image is part of a story; the story of a people who have lived through history, created culture, and passed their memories from one generation to the next. In Bamika–Alsace’s cultural gallery, historical and cultural figures, scenes of everyday life, education, sport, music and art, clothing, and traditional customs come together to portray part of the shared memory of the Hazara people. This gallery is a visual narrative of Hazarajat and the Hazara people in Afghanistan and across the world: from the past to the present, from the figures who helped shape history and culture to the new generations who now live in different parts of the world and continue this story. Here, an image is not just a photograph; it is a window onto a memory, a person, a generation, and a part of history. We want these memories to be gathered, recognised, and passed on to future generations; because a people who preserve their story will never forget their roots.
