Awareness, freedom and equality — living roots, a culture that carries on
Together in Strasbourg.

Culture is not merely a memory of the past; it is a living story passed down to us by previous generations and one that we, in turn, entrust to the generations of tomorrow. Bamika–Alsace was founded in Strasbourg to keep Hazara culture, language, history and identity alive, so that our roots remain strong in today’s world and new generations can understand their past and build their future with awareness and confidence. We believe that culture endures when it is known, learned, lived and shared with others. From this belief, we have created a path that brings generations closer together, allows knowledge and experience to circulate, gives young people opportunities to flourish, and makes art and ideas a common language for dialogue. Bamika–Alsace is not only a guardian of the past; we want to be a bridge between our roots and the future, between generations, and between Hazara culture and the wider world. We begin in Strasbourg, but our aspiration knows no borders; we envision a world in which every person can preserve their identity and roots while living alongside others with awareness, freedom and equality. Bamika–Alsace: keeping our roots alive, connecting generations and moving together towards the future.

01 / Bamika at a glance

An association connecting people and cultures

Culture, education, youth and solidarity are the four pillars of Bamika–Alsace: helping people understand their roots, supporting future generations and building a dynamic and caring community. At Bamika–Alsace, we see culture as a bridge between generations, education as a path to knowledge and awareness, young people as a driving force for the future, and solidarity as the foundation of a humane society. We bring these four dimensions together so that identities and heritage can be better understood, talents can flourish, generations can grow closer, and ideas can develop into collaboration and shared projects.
